Memory Photo. These portrait diptych was realized in analogic (BW) and digital (color). The film in medium format BW has undergone premature aging: I erase and damaged with acid and mechanical actions the film. The idea is: what happen to a film with long time of non correct storage? And what happen to a digital file with long time of non correct storage (color photo)? What happen if the hard disk fall down or doesn’t work?
The effect of color photos isn’t the result of a Photoshop post-production work.
In the future what happen to the family photos memory (sd card, hard disk, smartphone)? Today the people confide to the tecnology to remember the moments of life. If a grandson finds in the 2100th a HD perhaps he cannot understand the matter. If he’ll find and old photo album he could understand immediately and immediately preserve the object and the memory. © Pierluigi Giorgi
